Welcome to our new website and new look as we celebrate 20 years as your pro drum shop!
I started Rhythm Traders 20 years ago as a small hand drum store in Portland, Oregon and we’ve grown over the years, through 4 moves to larger storefronts. We wanted our website to reflect what our store has become: one of the largest drum shops on the West Coast, loaded floor to ceiling with amazing gear at the best prices, with a strong commitment to education and support of artists.
We’ve spent the last two years becoming authorized dealers for all the major brands, while reaching out to local drum makers and small companies that you’ll only find in independently-owned small businesses like ours. We are Oregon’s only Five-Star Drum Shop, and we were recently chosen as a Top 100 Music Dealer by our colleagues in the music industry.
The new website and logo are just the beginning. We hope you’ll have patience with us as we add new product every week, post pictures and videos of recent workshops and factory tours, and stream live clinics. In the process we’ve been able to lower prices on most items and we never charge a sales-tax EVER, to anyone, online or in our store!

Coming up we have a 20th Anniversary cymbal designed by Sabian, a 20th Anniversary line of Latin bells by JCR. You’ll get the first glimpses of the Maitre Djembe that our carvers in West Africa made for us – we think it’s the largest hand carved djembe in the world.
