Our Pakistani Hairless Goatskins are ideal for Dumbeks & Darbukas, Tambourines, Pandeiros, Bodhrans, frame drums, ceramic drums, small/recreational djembes, gourd drums, tucked drum set heads, and banjos. They are thinner than our African Goatskins and better suited for lower tension applications. All skins are pre-cut rounds and available in 14", 16", 18", 22", and 26" sizes.
Our African Goatskins are ideal for Djembes and other drums that require a stronger, thicker, untreated skin which retain natural oils giving them the maximum tonal range from low bass to piercing highs. We use these for all of our Djembe, Sabar, and talking drum repairs. Skins are whole hide, centered spine, and available with hair or without. You will generally use the whole hide for each djembe.

Our African Cowhides with hair are ideal for Dununs and Bougarabous. They are typically light brown or white in color, and thinner than American cowhides. These have a much warmer sound than goat, bringing out the mid to low range of the sound spectrum. They are also much stronger; perfect for playing with sticks on dununs to get that huge bass sound. Hair is usually kept on minimize the “clicking” impact sound of the stick hitting the skin, and to eliminate the high end of the sound spectrum.
LP Conga and Bongo skins are the industry standard for contemporary sounding Latin drums. We use these flat water buffalo skins imported from Thailand anytime we can’t use a preformed skin, usually on older drums or to match the sound properties of any of the major brands coming out of Thailand such as LP, Toca, Meinl, Pearl, or imported Gon Bops. The logo can easily be scraped off while the skin is wet.
