Ludwig Classic Series 14x5 8-Lug Maple Snare Drum Green Sparkle USA Monroe c.1990 #10130

Here's a cool early Monroe era Ludwig USA snare in classic Green Sparkle! 14x5 maple snare, made in Monroe, North Carolina during the early '90s. Based on the badge, low five-digit serial #10130, shell and hardware, we're thinking circa 1990. This is the earlier Ludwig Classic Series, before Ludwig introduced the modern Classic Maple line.

8 Ludwig bow-tie lugs, maple shell, triple-flanged hoops and a period-correct Ludwig P85 throw-off. The 8-lug setup gives the drum a nice open feel with plenty of body, while the maple shell delivers that warm, fat Ludwig sound with plenty of crack when you lean into it.

The Green Sparkle looks fantastic! It's bright, vibrant and really pops under the lights. The wrap looks to be original and it remains tight with no obvious major separation or damage.

The primary hardware is period-correct. Heads and snare cord are normal replacement items, and we haven't confirmed the snare wires as original.

Overall, we'd call this one Very Good condition for its age. The Green Sparkle still looks great, the chrome presents nicely and the drum shows the normal signs you'd expect from a snare that's been around for roughly 35 years. No extra holes or major shell modifications.
